What Is a Comp Card?

A comp card, short for composite card, is a printed or digital sheet that shows your look, range and key details at a glance. Models, actors and performers use it for auditions, castings, submissions and meetings. Agencies use it to present talent.

Model Platform is where you design and order your card. We’re not a modeling agency or casting service. We help you prepare and print the materials you bring to them.

Design Your Comp Card Online

The Design Studio gives you two ways to build a card you’re happy with.

  • Use a template: Start from a layout, add and position your photos, then enter your name, measurements and contact information.
  • Upload finished artwork: Already have a design? Upload your front and back artwork and move on to ordering.

Either way, you can preview both sides in your browser before you order.

What to Have Ready Before You Start

A little preparation makes designing faster.

  • Your best current photos. Choose a strong, sharp portrait for the front and a few images that show your range for the back.
  • Your details. Have your name, measurements and contact information ready, plus anything your agency asks you to include.
  • Your format. Decide whether you need printed cards, a digital file or both.
  • Finished artwork, if you have it. Keep your front and back files handy to upload.

How Comp Card Printing Works

Preview the front and back of your card in the Design Studio before you order.

1. Choose your starting point.

Pick a comp card template in the Design Studio, or upload finished front and back artwork.

2. Add your photos and details.

Upload, crop and position your images, then enter your name, measurements and contact information.

3. Preview both sides.

See your front and back as they’ll appear. Adjust the layout and text until it looks right.

4. Pick your format.

Download a digital file for online submissions, or order printed cards for in-person castings.

5. Approve your proof and check out.

Review your design one last time before you pay. If you change anything after approving a proof, you’ll be asked to review it again, so nothing prints that you haven’t seen.
